Sekilas mengenai GPSMap 62 S : GPSMAP Garmin 62s merupakan successor dari produk GPS handheld yang paling populer keluaran Garmin yaitu GPSMAP Garmin 60csx. GPSMAP 62 series ini memiliki kemampuan seperti Garmin Oregon minus layar sentuhnya namun dengan fungsionalitas seri 60. GPSMAP Garmin 62 series ini memiliki kemampuan untuk memanfaatkan tools BirdsEye aerial imagery dan Garmin custom maps. Dengan kedua tools tersebut, user bisa menambahkan USGS topos, PDF maps dll. Tersedia juga fungsi full paperless geocaching. Untuk Graphical User Interface ( GUI) sama persis dengan Garmin 78s. Mulai dari Main Menu hingga sub menu dan interface lainnya sama dengan Garmin78s. Hanya tampilan luarnya atau bentuk dari handheld GPS saja yang berbeda.
